Dartz is something of a big brother to Canter, offering him life advice and teaching him the finer points of hand-to-hand combat in an ultimately futile effort to bulk up Canter's frail body. Canter, in exchange, tries to introduce Dartz to philosophy, a subject for which Canter has a great passion, but this does not appeal much to Dartz.
Even though their worlds don't mesh very much, the two find common ground with their shared interest in the origins and nature of magic. Since they both cherish the rare moments of quiet in their lives, they spend many evenings discussing the topic just the two of them, but despite both of their efforts, they struggle to reach any meaningful conclusions. Not out of a lack of knowledge on the subject, but rather as a testament to the mystifying and complex nature of magic.
What do you think should be the relationship between Canter and Dartz? Do you have criticisms or comments on my ideas? Leave them below.
